Our canoeing trip starts just at Tembi Valley in the calm waters of the river Pinios and ends at the beach, where the river flows into the Aegean Sea. Impressive views towards the gorge of Tembi and the Aegean Sea open up as you paddle along the river. The canoes we use are very stable and safe as they are inflatable 2-seater canoes, of course we provide safety jackets and helmets in all sizes.

You can see a lot of animals and wild flowers in the fascinating river delta. You will follow the course of the river winding its way towards the sea where you will have the chance of a refreshing swim.

The Pineiós (Greek: Πηνειός, also Peneus) is a river in Thessaly, Greece.

The river is named after the god Peneus and was known for most of the 1000s as the Salambria. It flows from the Pindus mountains and empties into the Aegean Sea, northeast of Tempe, near Stomio. It creates a large delta, well-known for its beauty and for many animal species, protected by international environmental treaties.

The total length is 185 km and it begins in the north at the Pindus ranges east of Metsovo. The Meteora region and the city of Larissa lies along the Pineiós. Trikala and Kalabaka lie upon its tributary, the Lithaios. In the 1960s, a freeway connecting Athens and Thessaloniki was constructed in much of the Tempe valley, but it didn’t harm this special environment.
